U.S. News & World Report recognizes Loyola as top university for diversity

Loyola University New Orleans was singled out for its diversity and academics in new rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report. Loyola was one of only seven regional universities in the south recognized for its ethnic diversity and was also ranked No. 11 overall among the top regional universities in the south.

JFK's nephew, Mark K. Shriver, to speak about legendary father Sargent Shriver in Loyola guest appearance

Loyola University New Orleans will host Mark K. Shriver, son of Peace Corps founder Sargent Shriver and Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver, and nephew to President John F. Kennedy, for a special talk Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Shriver will share with the audience the guiding principles of his legendary father's life and how he strives to apply the same principles-faith, hope and love-in his own career fighting for social justice and advancing the right of every child to a safe and vibrant childhood.

College of Law is recipient of major anonymous gift

A new $150,000 gift to the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law will support the recently announced Loyola Incubator Program-an intensive, year-long mentorship and skills program training the next wave of solo practice lawyers to address the legal needs of the poor.

Loyola plans tobacco-free campus policy for 2015

Loyola University New Orleans is proposing a new tobacco-free policy for its campus, banning the use of all tobacco products as well as e-cigarettes. The policy is slated to go into effect in fall 2015. The discussion for the new policy was originally initiated by Loyola's Student Government Association in 2013 and since then, the university has convened a planning committee of faculty, staff and students for the purposes of implementing the new policy.
