New Loyola bookstore manager hired

Rachel S. Polk has joined Loyola University New Orleans as the new manager of the University Bookstore.

Hailing from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Polk opened the first multicultural bookstore on the Shore in 1991. Before coming to Loyola, she was a bookstore manager for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Bookstore and the Southern University Bookstore at Shreveport. She began her new post at Loyola this summer.

“We are excited that Rachel has joined us and will take our bookstore to the next level,” said Robbie Reed, assistant vice president for Student Affairs.

Polk holds a bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University and a master’s degree from Wilmington University. She currently resides in New Orleans with her husband, Jeffery.
