Help Loyola win $10,000 in 'I am a TOPS grad' contest

June 6, 2014

The Taylor Opportunity Program for Students, commonly known in Louisiana as TOPS, is giving Loyola University New Orleans students and alumni a chance to share their stories about how the program helped or is currently helping them pursue an education at Loyola. High student and alumni participation in a corresponding one-day-only Facebook contest Sunday, June 15 could earn the university $10,000.

To help Loyola win the contest, visit Facebook.com/IamaTOPSgrad on June 15 and hit the “like” button for Loyola and share personal accounts about how the TOPS program made it possible to attend Loyola. Make sure to use the hashtags #TOPSGrad and #LunchTimeLikes. The school with the most likes will receive a $10,000 donation from the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation, which created TOPS in 1989. In addition, one individual will be chosen to win a prize package of Loyola merchandise.

The late Patrick Taylor, along with his wife Phyllis, started the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation to provide a meaningful educational opportunity to every child. For 25 years, TOPS has sought to ensure students have the opportunity to receive merit-based, state-paid college tuition. This program now exists in 22 other states and is modeled after the TOPS of Louisiana. Additionally, the foundation supports advances in law enforcement, the military, community charitable organizations and humanitarian efforts.
