Women in Law Spring Fling honors first women graduates

April 11, 2014

The College of Law Alumni Association at Loyola University New Orleans will honor alumnae at the annual Women in Law Spring Fling, Thursday, April 24 from 4-7 p.m. at the home of alumnus Henry Lambert ’63, J.D. ’65 and Carey Bond. The event celebrates Loyola’s women in law and recognizes them as leaders in the local, state and federal judiciary, instruction and practice of law. This is a complimentary event for Loyola law alumnae, but advance registration online is required by Thursday, April 17 .

The Spring Fling is an important component of the College of Law Alumni Association’s mission to foster camaraderie and pride among alumnae. It also provides an opportunity for graduating law students to socialize and meet with College of Law Dean María Pabón López, J.D. and other women who are role models in the legal community.

There will be a special presentation recognizing the first women to graduate from the College of Law as part of this year’s continuing centennial celebration of the College of Law. The celebration kicked off in January at the Law Alumni Luncheon, followed by the Centennial Mardi Law Celebration on the Broadway campus in February. Upcoming events include the Law Alumni Association’s Centennial Cocktail Reception during the Annual Louisiana State Bar Convention in Destin, Fla., June 3; and a law reunion weekend in New Orleans Oct. 10-12.

The Spring Fling is sponsored by: Baker Donelson; Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr and Smith PLC; Jones, Swanson, Huddell, & Garrison, LLC; Evangeline Vavrick Law Offices; Mercer Law Firm LLC; Joan Benge, J.D. ‘90; Mary Dumestre, J.D. ‘88; The Hon.
