College of Law's free tax help for low-income taxpayers concludes next week

The Loyola University New Orleans College of Law's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, which offers free tax preparation assistance for people with low to moderate incomes, wraps up Thursday, April 10 with special extended hours.
The final sessions, designed by the Internal Revenue Service, are Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday, April 7 from 5-7 p.m. and Thursday, April 10 from 1-7 p.m. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program office is located at Loyola College of Law, Broadway Activities Center, 501 Pine St., Room 202.
The program has also been offering tax preparation at the Community Center of St. Bernard Parish, located at 1111 LeBeau St., Arabi, La. This location serves the communities of St. Bernard Parish, New Orleans East, the Lower Ninth Ward, and the Bywater and Marigny areas. The final session there takes place this Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information on sessions in Arabi, call 504-281-2512 or 504-861-5668. Please arrive no later than 12:30 p.m.
Those attending tax preparation sessions should bring identification, Social Security cards for each member of their household, tax returns and all other tax documents, including W-2 forms, 1099 forms and Social Security statements. Please bring prior year tax returns and documents.
