National Geographic Traveler publishes Mass Comm professor's article

March 14, 2014

Andrew Nelson, visiting professor in the School of Mass Communication at Loyola University New Orleans, recently had an article published in the April edition of National Geographic Traveler.

Nelson, who is a regular contributing writer and editor for the publication, wrote “Cincinnati Chill,” which chronicles a recent trip to Cincinnati, where he partakes on a guided tour of some of the hidden gems of the city, including downtown’s Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, which has seen a revival in the recent years. Nelson’s story for the magazine, “Tweet Me in Miami” won a 2010 Folio Award for magazine writing.

Nelson will revisit Cincinnati next month where he will speak to the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce to discuss the article and the "Brooklyn-ization," or re-urbanization of America's industrial cities.
