Attention graduating seniors: Win the first payment for student loans

February 21, 2014

The Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Association will foot the bill for the first payment on a student loan for one lucky graduating senior in each of the university’s five colleges—the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences, College of Social Sciences, College of Business, College of Music and Fine Arts and College of Law.

The Alumni Association is offering a $1,000 award to graduating seniors with an outstanding federal or private student loan certified by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average or better and must submit two letters of support—one from a Loyola faculty member—outlining the candidate’s leadership potential in a chosen profession and the community.

Eligible graduating seniors should also submit a one-page cover letter outlining their Loyola experience and their unique need for the award along with a résumé listing cumulative Loyola grade point average; expected graduation date and major; campus leadership; community service and civic activities; and documented financial need certified by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. In-depth application instructions and requirements are available online.
