World-renowned Russian pianist Lilya Zilberstein will present a masterclass this weekend at Loyola University New Orleans. This class affords Loyola students the opportunity to perform and receive professional feedback in preparation for music careers. It is free and open to the public.

Zilberstein’s class is tomorrow, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. in the Louis J. Roussel Performance Hall, located in the Communications/Music Complex on Loyola’s main campus.

Since winning first prize in the 1987 Busoni International Piano Competition, Zilberstein has established herself as one of the finest pianists in the world. She has performed with the top international orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Symphony, Belgrade Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony, Moscow Philharmonic, La Scala Orchestra, Taipei Symphony and the Vienna Symphony, among many others. Zilberstein will perform Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra at the First Baptist Church in Covington, La., today, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and the Mahalia Jackson Theatre in New Orleans, Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
