PR News names alumnus' public relations agency its 2013 Small Firm of the Year

PR News recently named Deveney Communication, helmed by Loyola University New Orleans alumnus John Deveney ‘88, its 2013 Firm of the Year (Small). The news was announced at a gathering of some of the nation’s most esteemed public relations agencies, along with leading corporate and nonprofit leaders, at the annual Platinum PR Awards Luncheon in New York City, Oct. 15.

“We are thrilled to receive this international designation and bring it home to our great state of Louisiana. It is a true testament of the amazing work our team delivers consistently on behalf of the industry leaders we represent,” said Deveney.

Deveney Communication is the only strategic communication firm in Louisiana to have ever been named PR News’ Firm of the Year or PRWeek’s Top 5 Boutique PR Firms in the country, which Deveney earned in 2004. Platinum PR Award nominees were judged on growth, retention, innovation and agency/client culture. The Firm of the Year (Small) category recognizes a U.S. or Canadian-based PR agency with annual income below $10 million.
