Law professor named high school alumnus of the year

St. Augustine High School recently named Loyola University New Orleans College of Law professor Mitch Crusto, J.D. as the 2013 alumnus of the year. Crusto is a 1971 graduate of the New Orleans school.
Crusto was honored with the Father Charles Hall Award at St. Augustine’s homecoming gala Oct. 11. The award recognizes an alumnus who has promoted the values of Christian responsibility, academic excellence and integrity. In addition to serving on the school’s board of directors, Crusto is a major donor, co-chairman of the Academic Standard’s Committee and sponsor of an ACT Advancement course.
“Mitch is one of our most esteemed alumni, having graduated at the top of his graduating class from St. Aug and matriculating on to Yale, where he earned undergraduate and graduate degrees. He and his entire family continually and readily give of their resources to help advance the mission of St. Aug. On top of all that, he has been a great friend,” said Alfred E. "Al" Harrell III, St. Augustine’s executive director for institutional advancement.
