Loyola's PRSSA chapter participating in national conference in Philadelphia
October 25, 2013
The Loyola University New Orleans chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America is participating in the organization’s annual national conference in Philadelphia, Penn., Oct. 25-29. Loyola’s Bateman Case Study Competition team, which participates in the annual public relations contest sponsored by the national organization, has won more times than any other school in the country.
The five-day conference, hosted by the PRSSA headquarters each year, invites chapters across the nation to hear speakers, experience a new city and develop professional networks. Senior James Lambert, attending as Loyola’s chapter president, said he is humbled by the name Loyola has already made within the national organization. “I could not be more honored to represent Loyola,” he said. “Loyola has a great reputation among PRSSA nationally because of our Bateman record.”
Other members joining Lambert include Kamaria Monmouth, vice president; Lindsey Rousselle, director of public relations; Alden Woodhull, treasurer; and Clareen Ward, nonprofit coordinator. Loyola professor Cathy Rogers, Ph.D., the PRSSA faculty adviser, is also attending the conference.
Loyola's chapter of PRSSA is designed to help foster relationships between students and professional PR practitioners in New Orleans and surrounding areas. PRSSA seeks to advance the public relations profession by nurturing generations of future professionals. PRSSA advocates rigorous academic standards for public relations education, the highest ethical principles and diversity in the profession
