Princeton Review names College of Business as one of nation's best

The Loyola University New Orleans College of Business has been recognized as one of the nation’s best business schools by The Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company features the school in its 2014 edition of “Best 295 Business Schools,” which hit bookshelves this week.
According to Robert Franek, Princeton Review senior vice president-publisher, “We recommend Loyola as one of the best institutions a student could attend to earn a business school degree. We chose the schools we profile in this book based on our high regard for their academic programs and our reviews of institutional data we collect from the schools. We also solicit and greatly respect the opinions of students attending these schools who rate and report on their experiences at them on our 80-question student survey for the book.”
Conducted during the 2012-13, 2011-12 and 2010-11 academic years, the student surveys were completed online. The Princeton Review does not rank the business schools in the book on a single hierarchical list from one to 295, or name one business school best overall. Instead, the book has 11 ranking lists of the top 10 business schools in various categories.
“The Best 295 Business Schools: 2014 Edition” has two-page profiles of the schools with write-ups on their academics, student life and admissions. In the profile of Loyola’s MBA program, the Princeton Review editors said the school “really caters to each and every student,” with one student surveyed commenting, “I appreciate being at a place that not only educates my mind, but gives me social awareness as well.” The publication goes on to highlight the personal attention students receive in the classroom, with one student saying, “I was shocked to learn how easily accessible my professors were. They really are interested in your education and your life and they want you to succeed! In fact, they will put in extra hours to make sure you do just that. The business school here is more like a family, which makes it that much easier to learn.”

The fact that the testimonials in the Princeton Review reflect faculty’s dedication to personal attention while keeping educational benchmarks high is further evidence that our college is successful now and will be in the future,” said College of Business Dean William B. Locander, Ph.D.
In August, Loyola was also selected by The Princeton Review as one of the best institutions for undergraduate education. Loyola was ranked in the top 10 in the nation for lots of race-class interaction, No. 5, and is ranked No. 8 for town-gown relations, which gauges how well students get along with members of the local community. Loyola is also ranked among the top 20 colleges in the nation for the easiest campus to get around, No. 13, the best quality of life, No. 17, and the best college library, No. 19.
