Loyola University New Orleans alumnus and journalist Ramon Vargas '09 will host a book signing this Sunday, July 14 for his new book about Loyola's 1945 national basketball championship. "Fight, Grin and Squarely Play the Game: The 1945 Loyola New Orleans Basketball Championship and Legacy" chronicles the heartfelt personal narratives of the 1944-45 Loyola Wolf Pack as they became the city's first basketball team to earn a national championship. The signing will be from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Garden District Book Shop, 2727 Prytania St.
Elizabeth Futral, a celebrated opera soprano and Covington, La., native, will perform "A Night of Music," a solo voice recital of her favorite arias, Sunday, July 21 at Loyola University New Orleans.
For the fourth time in five years, Loyola University New Orleans' student newspaper, The Maroon, has received an official stamp of approval in a national, independent review.
Loyola University New Orleans College of Law alumnus Carlos Leach, J.D. '01, has been named one of the "Nation's Best Advocates: 40 Lawyers under 40."
The Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing was recently awarded a $933,271 grant to bolster the nation's health training by supporting Doctor of Nursing Practice students.
