June 21, 2013
Loyola University New Orleans School of Mass Communication alumna Kelly Williams Brown ’06 turned her blog into a recently published book, “Adulting: How to Become A Grownup in 468 Easy(ish) Steps.” Williams Brown shares her humorous steps to help those in their 20s (or even 30s) through the sometimes stressful and awkward process of becoming a grown-up. She shared those tips as a guest on NBC's Today Show June 19.
Williams Brown also offered Loyola School of Mass Communication students insider tips on transitioning a blog into a book in March. Her book started out as the blog, “Adulting,” which has more than 80,000 followers on Tumblr.
Williams Brown, now living in Portland, worked as a reporter and columnist for various newspapers for six years. She was an award-winning humor columnist for the Statesman Journal, a daily newspaper in Salem, Ore.
