Loyola University New Orleans received a $109,875 gift from ExxonMobil after the company matched donations given to the university by 16 of its generous employees and former employees—many of whom are Loyola alumni.
ExxonMobil Chalmette Refining plant manager Janet Matsushita presented the check to Loyola President Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., Ph.D., in a reception held May 30. Donors Michael and Monica Keenan, parents of Loyola 1998 graduate Elizabeth Keenan, Ph.D., attended the reception. Their contribution was among the ExxonMobil employee and former employee donations matched by the company in the gift.
The funds will benefit the College of Law, the College of Music and Fine Arts, the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences, the College of Business, the College of Social Sciences, the Loyola Fund and Loyola scholarship students.
