The Maroon wins Associated Press awards

Student journalists working for Loyola University New Orleans’ student newspaper, The Maroon, won several awards from the Louisiana and Mississippi Associated Press Managing Editors Association College Contest.
The Maroon staff as a whole won third place in editorial writing and third place for general excellence. Maroon staffer Hasani Grayson won second place for Best Enterprise Sports Story with “Volleyball pulls out the big guns,” and Karl Gommel won second place for best breaking sports story with “Volleyball storming to a good start.”
