New Loyola bookstore manager hired
April 19, 2013
Maleta Wilson has joined Loyola University New Orleans as the new manager of the University Bookstore.
Wilson was previously a bookstore field manager based out of California State University Dominguez Hills with Follett Higher Education Group, which owns and operates Loyola’s bookstore and was also an independent bookseller. She started at Loyola April 1.
“As a mother of two, one college age, Maleta understands all too well the education community requires constant innovativeness. (She) plans to work closely with the Loyola family and surrounding community to provide a ‘concierge’ level of service to all our customers,” said Robbie Reed, assistant vice president for Student Affairs.
Wilson has received numerous community service awards for her outstanding service and commitment to others, and she was the 2001 Blackboard Bookseller of the Year. She holds a master’s in administration from Central Michigan University and a master’s in transformative leadership from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Fla.
