Alumnus receives Fulbright award
April 5, 2013
Loyola University New Orleans alumnus Brian Ea ‘12 received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program English Teaching Assistantship grant to Thailand. A graduate of Loyola’s Department of English, Ea is one of only 20 who received the Fulbright Teaching Assistantship award to Thailand this year.
Ea will be teaching English in a classroom setting beginning in October, though the exact location and age group has not yet been determined.
"The constant enthusiasm of the professors here at Loyola and the school's emphasis on community engagement were major factors in developing my interest in teaching abroad," Ea said.
The Fulbright awardees meet, work, live with and learn from the people of host countries worldwide. The program facilitates a direct cultural exchange experience and fuels community engagement on the global scale, fostering openness, academic integrity, intellectual freedom and mutual understanding.
