March 28, 2013
Loyola University New Orleans will open its doors for students admitted to the class of 2017 Saturday, April 6 for its President’s Open House. More than 400 students and their families from across the country and around the globe are expected to attend the day filled with interactive discussions, tours and a peek into the life of a Loyola student.
This year’s Departmental and Student Activities Fair—a highlight of the event—includes an opportunity for admitted students to interact with representatives from academic departments and student organizations. The fair, held in the University Sports Complex, demonstrates Loyola's strong educational environment and its commitment to developing well-rounded students by providing a plethora of community and campus activities. The fair is scheduled to begin at noon.
Special sessions scheduled throughout the day will give students a taste of college life, including “Exploring Research in Criminology and Criminal Justice,” “Explore your Creative Self: Electro-Acoustic Ensemble,” “Preparing for Law School” and “Shakespeare: Word and Deed for Theatre Class.”
Campus Tours will depart from the St. Charles Room located in the Danna Student Center on Loyola’s main campus at 8 a.m., and also from the steps of the J. Edgar and Louise S. Monroe Library at noon, 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Residential hall tours will depart from the lobby of Buddig Hall from 10:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monroe Library tours will begin in its lobby every 15 minutes from 10:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
