Jesuit Center accepting applications for new staff fellow program
March 15, 2013
The Jesuit Center at Loyola University New Orleans introduces the Ignatian Staff Fellows Program, an opportunity for staff to participate in a year-long workshop on Jesuit education and Ignatian values.
This experience will consist of reading, written reflections, group discussions, workshops, retreats and an immersion trip to Belize. Participants in the program will conclude their experience with a deeper understanding of the history and educational mission of the Society of Jesus and of the intellectual, spiritual and social dimensions of Ignatian spirituality. At the conclusion of the program, each fellow will also serve as a mentor for one of the next cohort of selected fellows.
The program, directed by Robert Reed, assistant vice president for student affairs, and Ricardo Marquez, Ph.D., assistant director of the Jesuit Center, is open to eight fellows annually.
All staff are eligible to apply and should submit a statement of interest, resumé and letter of support from the applicant’s supervisor to Marquez.
Applications will be accepted during the spring semester prior to the year the fellowship is held. Applications are due March 30. Fellows will be announced by the end of the spring semester with the first meeting taking place April 10, 2013.
