March 8, 2013

New Orleans actress Laura Cayouette of Academy Award-winning film “Django Unchained” joins the Loyola University New Orleans Film Buffs Institute for a special Q-and-A event followed by a screening of the Quentin Tarantino presentation “Hell Ride” Thursday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. The event is set for Bobet Hall, room 332 on Loyola’s main campus.

Cayouette, who plays Leonardo DiCaprio’s sister, Lara Lee Candie-Fitzwilly, in “Django Unchained” will discuss her recent role, how fellow actors can make the most out of their career, the New Orleans film industry as a whole and her new book, “Know Small Parts: An Actor's Guide to Turning Minutes into Moments & Moments into a Career.” Cayouette is also author of the blog, LAtoNOLA.com, which is about her love for the city and acting.

Tarantino’s presentation “Hell Ride” will follow the Q-and-A. Cayouette produced the biker movie and also starred in it along with Dennis Hopper, Michael Madsen and David Carradine.

“The opportunity to host an evening with Hollywood actress Laura Cayouette at Loyola University is a significant achievement for the Film Buffs Institute in our ongoing effort to revamp our programming and offer special event nights for Loyola students as well as for the larger New Orleans community,” said director Dittmar Dittrich, Ph.D. “The Film Buffs Institute has been active at Loyola for over 40 years and has played an important role in bringing outstanding films to local film enthusiasts.”
