Physics department hosts talk on new Mathematica 9 software
March 1, 2013
The Loyola University New Orleans Department of Physics is sponsoring a free talk Tuesday, March 5 to discuss Wolfram’s Mathematica 9—a software program used for complex computations. Wolfram’s Brenda Marshall will be on hand during the 12:30 p.m. talk scheduled for Monroe Hall in room 127.
Marshall’s interactive discussion will focus on how Mathematica 9 is directly applicable for teaching and research on campus. She will cover topics including on-demand scientific and real-world data as well as 2-D and 3-D visualization, to name a few. It will also highlight new features of the software.
Expert users will benefit from the talk as well as beginners; those attending the talk do not need prior experience using Mathematica. All attendees will receive an electronic copy of the examples, which can be adapted to individual projects. Marshall will also provide a free trial download.
