Music industry alumnus releases debut album
March 1, 2013
Gregory Agid ’09, a graduate of the Music Industry Studies program at Loyola University New Orleans, is solidifying his place in New Orleans’ musical tradition with the release of his first record, “Mystery Blues.”
Produced by Delfeayo Marsalis, the album highlights Agid’s unique approach to improvisation on the clarinet through original compositions and standards. Recently nominated as New Orleans’ Best Clarinetist by OffBeat Magazine, Agid celebrated his debut with a CD release party at the Little Gem Saloon in New Orleans earlier this week. The Gregory Agid Quartet will also hold a masterclass at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Wednesday, March 6.
