Loyola takes on rival Spring Hill in fundraising challenge
January 25, 2013
While the two schools often duke it out on the court, Loyola University New Orleans is taking on longtime rival Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala., in a unusual way. In the “Tip Off Challenge,” Loyola will battle Spring Hill to see which Jesuit school can score the most donations from Jan. 19, when Loyola bested Spring Hill at the Hall of Fame basketball game in New Orleans, through Feb. 9 when the teams meet again in Mobile.
The competition will feature fun and interactive messages posted on social media sites including Facebook and Twitter. People can participate with Instagram by sharing photos of the Loyola community or athletic events using the #TipOffChallenge hashtag.
Supporters of both schools will be asked to give online contributing to each school’s “score.” Track the score board of donations on Loyola’s giving page. Supporters can give online to any area of their choice, whether Loyola athletics, a specific department or college or the Loyola Fund.
The losing team will be forced to post a photo of its coaches with the winning school mascot on its social media page.
