Donnelley Center holds open house to aid New Orleans nonprofits
January 25, 2013
The Shawn M. Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communications at Loyola University New Orleans is holding a free open house Monday, Jan. 28 aimed at helping local nonprofits obtain advertising and promotional campaign services they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. The “Spring into Action” event is set for 6-8 p.m. on the third floor of the Communications/Music Complex on Loyola’s main campus.
This year’s theme encourages nonprofit organizations to spring into action and take the necessary steps to advance their communication strategies. Donnelley Center staff members will provide guests with information on past projects and future opportunities. Applications for nonprofits interested in becoming Donnelley Center clients will also be available onsite.
“We not only want to show off our newly renovated office, but we want to make nonprofits aware of the services we can provide them,” said Emily Andras, event coordinator at the Donnelley Center.
Founded in 1996, the Shawn M. Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communications is a student-run agency that helps nonprofits achieve success through creative communication solutions. Nonprofits approved through an application process can obtain free hands-on design, advertising and public relations services, and Loyola students are able to give back to the community through their work. Since its inception, the center has completed more than 200 projects.
