Loyola law professor, alumni named to 40 Under 40 list
November 16, 2012
Loyola University New Orleans College of Law associate professor Johanna Kalb, J.D., 34, was named to Gambit’s 40 Under 40 list—a roll that puts the spotlight on the Crescent City’s high achievers under age 40. Five Loyola alumni joined her on the list this year. The list honors their accomplishments and contributions made to New Orleans.
Kalb, also the 2011 Loyola College of Law Professor of the Year, concentrates on human rights law. For her, Loyola is the ideal fit since part of its mission is a commitment to social change. And she’s a big part of furthering that social change. Kalb is heading up an effort for a human rights clinic at the College of Law to help her students get involved in the field and to campaign for social justice issues.
Loyola alumni honored on Gambit’s 40 Under 40 list include:
- Kellie Axelrad ’00 (biology)
- Andrea Bourgeois-Calvin ’97 (biology)
- Kathleen Gasparian ’95 (English), J.D. ’02
- Alexander McConduit ’08 (marketing)
- Nicolas Nevares ’04 (religious studies)
