Loyola presents at National Collegiate Honors Council
November 16, 2012
Two Loyola University New Orleans Honors Program students—Mara Steven and Evan LaBranche—along with the University Honors Program director Naomi Yavneh, Ph.D., and library liaison Teri Gallaway are presenting this week at the National Collegiate Honors Council in Boston. The presentations highlight the Louisiana Bicentennial Exhibit and the Loyola Centennial Exhibit their teams created in the “Rediscovering 1912” honors seminar last spring.
The National Collegiate Honors Council conference, held Nov. 14-18, attracts more than 2,500 honors professors, administrators and students.
Yavneh will also join three other Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities honors directors to present a panel on “The Magis of Honors: Essential Characteristics of Jesuit Honors Programs.” Yavneh and Steven also are serving on the conference planning committee for the 2013 conference slated for New Orleans next November.
