S.L. Alexander publishes memoir excerpt in Florida book

New Orleans transplant from Florida S.L. Alexander, Ph.D., associate professor of the Loyola University New Orleans School of Mass Communication, had an excerpt from her in-progress memoirs published. The chapter, “Seaboard Coast Line,” was published in October in the book “Homegrown in Florida” by University Press of Florida.

Edited by William McKeen, the book is a collection of pieces by Floridians. In addition to Alexander, the book includes works from writers Carl Hiaasen, Michael Connelly and musician Tom Petty.
