October 26, 2012
Senior level student affairs officers from 24 of the 28 schools within the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities were hosted by Loyola University New Orleans this week for the annual Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators conference.
Loyola’s Vice President of Student Affairs M.L. “Cissy” Petty, Ph.D., who was elected this past August as JASPA’s president, presided over the conference which addressed several student affairs-related issues including health and wellness, programming, sustainability and legal matters. In addition, conference attendees also reviewed accomplishments from the past year and solidified JASPA’s strategic plan for the upcoming year.
Loyola President Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., Ph.D., held an informal conversation with the group on Wednesday and AJCU President the Rev. Greg Lucey, S.J., Ph.D., gave a presentation on Thursday. Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in the Dear World photo shoot on Wednesday with creator Robert Fogarty, who developed all the images into a movie trailer which debuted on Thursday.
