Loyola's School of Nursing holds virtual open houses

July 13, 2012

Primary care health professionals are needed now more than ever as the country prepares to deliver unprecedented medical coverage to its citizens through the Affordable Care Act. Loyola University New Orleans’ School of Nursing has expanded its commitment to preparing the primary care workforce and is holding several online open houses in July and August for qualified nurses interested in pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.

The open houses will offer information about the post-Master of Science in Nursing to Doctor of Nursing Practice program and the newly-created post-Bachelor of Science in Nursing to Doctor of Nursing Practice program. Interested students are encouraged to log in to the open house and research the requirements and curriculum on Loyola’s website. Students interested in pursuing a D.N.P. degree are encouraged to contact the school at 504-865-3142 for more information.

Loyola was recently rated among the top five online graduate nursing programs by U.S. News and World Report and currently offers the only Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accredited DNP program in Louisiana. The early application deadline for all nursing programs is Nov.1. Orientation for both DNP programs are set for April 2013, with classes beginning in May 2013.

The open house schedules are as follows:

Post-Master's to DNP:
July 17 – 11 a.m. CST
Aug. 16 – 2 p.m. CST
Aug. 21 – 4 p.m. CST

Post-Baccalaureate to DNP:
