Global Business Association panel discussion explores business opportunities in Latin America

The Loyola University New Orleans chapter of the Global Business Association hosted its first annual panel discussion Thursday, April 19 on the topic “Business Environment and Culture in Latin America.” The event was moderated by Jeffrey Krug, Ph.D., the Jack and Vada Reynolds Chair in International Business and GBA adviser. Headlining the panel discussion were:
- Luis Garza, senior vice president and director of international banking, Whitney National Bank
- Dominik Knoll, CEO, New Orleans World Trade Center
- Uriel Quesada, Ph.D., director of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Loyola University
Discussions centered on the financial outlook for Latin America, as well as international trade possibilities and cultural characteristics of Latin America. The panestudents an opportunity to receive a well-rounded view of how business is conducted throughout the region by experts in their field.
“The GBA wants to offer its members an opportunity to interact with business people and decision-makers from all around the world, and we feel meetings like this expand their business network,” Krug said.
