Philosophy professor receives business ethics award
October 21, 2011
Loyola University New Orleans philosophy professor Ian A. Smith, Ph.D., will be awarded the 2011 Primeaux Prize for his paper, "On Explaining Individual and Corporate Culpability in the Global Climate Change Era," at the 18th annual International Conference Promoting Business Ethics in New York on Oct. 26.
Smith’s paper was selected at last year’s conference as the best paper of those submitted and will be published in a special volume of the Journal of Business Ethics.
The Primeaux Prize is named after the late Patrick D. Primeaux, S.M., one of the conference co-founders.
The interdisciplinary conference encourages a broad-based approach to the discussion of ethical theory and practice by seeking submissions from business and academic professionals who are promoting business ethics. This year’s event is sponsored by St. John's University.
For more information, contact Smith at 504-865-3940 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
