Loyola staffer co-produces documentary to air on WDSU-TV

“Close Ties – Tying on a New Tradition,” a documentary about mentoring African-American males in New Orleans, hits the small screen this weekend, airing on WDSU TV both Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 23 at 11:35 p.m. The documentary was co-produced by associate director for educational initiatives for Loyola University New Orleans’ Institute for Quality and Equity in Education Andre Perry, Ph.D.
The film, primarily set in a barbershop located in the Carrollton neighborhood, focuses on the positive impact that mentoring can make in the lives of African-American male high school students in inner-city New Orleans.
