Alumna's new book takes on relationships and money

September 30, 2011

Loyola University New Orleans alumna Marlow Felton ’89 has co-authored a new book with her husband Chris, tackling the challenges of maintaining financial stability while fostering a healthy relationship.

The book, “Couples Money,” discusses the financial dynamic of a partnership from the perspective of a married couple in the financial services industry. After seeing the financial reality of thousands of couples of all walks of life, they shared their personal stories and insights to what they believe is the cure for "financial cancer.”

“The book isn’t about the theory about what we think, it’s what we’ve actually experienced,” said Felton. “The concepts that we share in the book actually work. We walk the readers through simple concepts and actions that couples can take together to improve their financial and emotional health.”

Felton and her husband have spent more than 20 years working as financial planners and used the lessons learned from working with struggling couples as a way to offer hope to others facing the same challenges.

“It was empowering to write this book because what my husband and I had found together was so important that we had to share it,” Felton said. “We felt obligated to share this because so many people are struggling and we want to encourage the many couples out there who are feeling discouraged. There is hope. There is a way for them to work together and overcome the financial obstacles that they might have.”

“Couples Money” is available at Amazon.com for $15.95. The Kindle version is also available and can be downloaded for $9.99.
