Theatre professor lands guest role on new television series pilot

Ann Mahoney Kadar, theatre professor at Loyola University New Orleans, will guest star in the pilot episode of the new CW television network series, “Hart of Dixie,” on Monday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m.

Kadar is cast as Mabel, the daughter of a shrimper mom in a small Alabama town. “Hart of Dixie” follows main character Dr. Zoe Hart, played by Rachel Bilson, as she moves to the town of Bluebell when there are no jobs available for her in New York.

Kadar has previously appeared on screen, including supporting roles in the movie “Big Momma’s House 2,” as well as in television series “Frankenstein” on USA, “Snow Wonder” on CBS, and “Thief” on F/X. In addition to television and film roles, Kadar has also appeared on stage in “Cloning Judson” at Southern Rep, “A Dream Play” at the Berkshire Theatre Festival, and in both “Hamlet in Hamlet” and “Sweet Charity” at Connecticut Repertory Theatre.
