Center for International Education holds Study Abroad Fair
September 23, 2011
Students and their parents can learn all about international study opportunities during the annual Family Weekend Study Abroad Fair on Friday, Sept. 30, from 12 – 2 p.m. in the Peace Quad. The fair is hosted by Loyola University New Orleans Center for International Education and will provide information about the variety of available programs for summer, semester and year-long experiences.
CIE provides access to educational opportunities in over 50 different countries and plans to offer 10 Loyola-run study abroad programs in summer 2012.
“The Family Weekend Study Abroad Fair gives students and their parents a chance to meet program directors in person, hear more about program offerings and ask any questions they have about studying abroad,” said Study Abroad Advisor Mariette Thomas, who said the program continues to expand.
“Study abroad provides our students an opportunity to experience another culture. It promotes personal growth, development and maturity. Most students who come back say it’s a transformative experience,” Thomas said.
