Duo set to run at NAIA Outdoor Championships

Vanessa Righeimer and Abraham Thacker will represent Loyola University New Orleans in the marathon event at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on May 28 in Marion, Indiana.
Righeimer, a freshman from Chicago, qualified for the marathon by posting a time of 1:33.27 in the Rock n Roll Mardi Gras half marathon in February. This will be the first full marathon of her career.
A native of Middleway, West Virginia, Thacker qualified for nationals with a 2:47.59 performance at the Rock 'n' Roll Mardi Gras marathon as well. He also posted the top five finishes for the Wolfpack in the 5000 meter this outdoor season will be seeded 75th for Saturday’s event.
The event will be run at 6 a.m. on May 28 in Marion, Indiana. More information on the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships can be found at http://www.indwes.edu/naia/.
