Police chief delivers safety talk at national convention
May 27, 2011
Loyola University New Orleans Director of Public Safety/University Police, Patrick Bailey, was a presenter at the National Business Education Association convention and trade show held in New Orleans last April.
Bailey presented “Self Defense & Assault Awareness: Learn to Protect Yourself,” and was assisted by Loyola’s Lieutenant Angela Honora and Corporal Mary Booth. Honora and Booth demonstrated self-defense tactics, answered audience questions, and responded individually to those with special needs.
The goal of the convention program was to provide sessions and experiences that would enhance the skills of business educators, promote networking opportunities and challenge attendees to return to their classrooms ready to empower the next generation of business professionals. Personal development sessions addressed the topics of stress relief techniques, self-defense and assault awareness. Attendees at the convention included middle school, secondary, post-secondary and university business educators from throughout the United States.
