Dean Miron to speak at international social sciences conference
May 20, 2011
Luis Mirón, Ph.D., dean of the College of Social Sciences at Loyola University New Orleans, will be one of the featured speakers at the Sixth International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences to be held at the University of New Orleans, July 11-13.
Mirón, who also founded the Loyola University Institute for Quality and Equity in Education, will deliver the plenary session, “Rebuilding and Re-imagining Public Education in the Crescent City.”
The International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences examines the nature of disciplinary practices, and the interdisciplinary practices that arise in the context of ‘real world’ applications. It also interrogates what constitutes ‘science’ in a social context, and the connections between the social and other sciences.
