Alumni weekend starts today
Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Weekend begins today, Friday, May 13. The weekend is held in conjunction with commencement events, allowing alumni to celebrate their Wolfpack pride alongside graduating seniors.
Loyola's Class of 2011 graduates this weekend
Award-winning actor Wendell Pierce will address Loyola University New Orleans' Class of 2011 during its unified commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14, at 9:45 a.m. in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The star of HBO's "Treme" series will also receive an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters during commencement exercises. Pierce joins Loyola's other honorary degree recipients including National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Administrator Jane Lubchenco, Ph.D., legendary music producer Cosimo Matassa, and New Orleans businessman and Loyola trustee emeritus John B. Levert Jr. The commencement ceremonies will take place in Halls I-2 and J.
Loyola webcasts unified and law commencement ceremonies
The Loyola University New Orleans Spring 2011 Unified Commencement Ceremony will be webcast live on Saturday, May 14, at 9:45 a.m. providing access to family and friends who are unable to attend. The webcast for the College of Law commencement ceremony will be Saturday, May 14, at 5:45 p.m.
College of Law dedicates plaque in memory of late dean
This past Tuesday, the late Brian Bromberger, former dean of the College of Law, was honored with a memorial service and plaque dedication.
Distinguished alumni honored at Jazz brunch
Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Association will honor prominent alumni from each college at its annual Jazz brunch on Sunday, May 15, part of the 2011 Alumni Weekend.

Loyola University New Orleans has announced its 2010-11 Ignatian Award winners for outstanding senior and graduate students.
Conference at Loyola to focus on business sustainability
The Center for Spiritual Capital, in conjunction with the Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business, will host the 10th International Conference on Corporate Responsibility at Loyola University New Orleans from May 18 – 21.
Business professor gains international recognition
The International Journal of Accounting and Information Management, headed by Loyola's Lee Yao Ph.D., the Rev. J. A. Butt, S.J. Distinguished Professor in Accounting, has been accepted and is now included into SCOPUS, the world's largest online abstract and citation database.
