Alumni weekend takes place May 13-15

Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Weekend will take place Friday, May 13 – Sunday, May 15. The weekend is held in conjunction with commencement events, allowing alumni to celebrate their Wolfpack pride alongside graduating seniors. The annual Senior Crawfish Boil will kick off the weekend lineup, offering the graduating class a chance to rub elbows with visiting alumni. The weekend of events also includes the welcome receptions, the induction of Loyola’s 50-year graduates who will process in Loyola’s commencement ceremony, the reunion class dinners, the Class of 2006 cocktail reception at the Columns Hotel, and the annual Alumni Association Jazz Brunch.

The classes of 1961, 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 will celebrate milestone reunions during the weekend as well.

Schedule of Events:

Friday, May 13

  • Senior Crawfish Boil
    11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
    West Road Garage $25 per person; graduates are free, $10 for children 12 and under
  • Campus Tours
    1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
    Meet outside Monroe Library
  • Monroe Library/Special Collections and Archives Tour
    2 p.m. Meet in the lobby of Monroe Library
    Alumni will get a brief tour of the Monroe Library as well as a more in-depth look at our Special Collections and Archives, including The Maroon and Loyola yearbook collections.

  • School of Dentistry, College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology
    5:30 – 7 p.m.
    Monroe Library, 1st floor
    $15, includes hors d'oeuvres and wine
  • School of Mass Communication
    5:30 – 7 p.m.
    Music and Communications Complex, 3rd floor
    $15, includes hors d'oeuvres and wine
  • School of Nursing
    5:30 – 7 p.m.

    Processional ceremony with regalia

  • Law Commencement (for Senior Advocates only)

    $40 per person/$70 per couple
  • Class of 2006 Cocktail Reception

    $30 per person, unlimited wine and hors d' oeuvres

  • Alumni Mass (Loyola President the Rev. Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., Ph.D., presiding)
    10:30 - 11:15 a.m.
    Ignatius Chapel, Bobet Hall
  • Alumni Association Jazz Brunch
    The brunch includes the Adjutor Hominum Award presentation, Alumni College awards, and the reunion class gifts presentation.
    11:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
