Loyola receives top bond ratings from national credit agency

Standard & Poor's Rating Services has given Loyola University New Orleans its stamp of approval in terms of financial strength. S&P affirmed its 'A+' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on series 2010 and 2006 revenue bonds issued by the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority on behalf of Loyola University.

First female NOAA chief receives honorary doctorate from Loyola

Jane Lubchenco, Ph.D., administrator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, will receive an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Loyola University New Orleans during its commencement ceremony on May 14.

Loyola's School of Nursing among the nation's best

Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing was recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as having one of the nation's top nursing graduate programs. Loyola placed in the top 30 percent of the 467 nursing schools examined by the publication, ranking ahead of many publically-funded universities such as Louisiana State Health Sciences Center.

Andre Perry joins Institute for Quality and Equity in Education

Loyola University New Orleans announced today that Andre Perry, Ph.D., a national leader in educational reform and co-chair of Mayor Landrieu's Education Transition team, will become an adviser to its Institute for Quality and Equity in Education.

Loyola Opera Theatre stages bubbly Poulenc opera

Poulenc's quirky one-act opera "Les Mamelles de Tirésias," ("The Breasts of Tiresias") will be staged at Loyola University New Orleans by Loyola Opera Theatre Monday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Monroe Hall's Nunemaker Auditorium.

The Loyola University New Orleans Alumni Association has selected John D'Arcy Becker '61 as the 2010 recipient of the Adjutor Hominum Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Alumni Association.
