Strong second half gives Loyola women a victory over Talladega

Loyola University New Orleans women's basketball team utilized a strong second half performance in a 59-55 victory over Talladega College Wednesday night in The Den.
The Wolfpack outscored the Lady Tornadoes 37-30 in the second stanza and used a 16-5 run to take their first lead since the 11:47 mark in the opening half. Rachael Nolan finished with a team high 14 points and capped the run with a jumper to give the Wolfpack a 47-41 advantage with 5:45 to play.
Keiva Council secured the win for Loyola with a pair of free throws with eight seconds remaining and finished with 13 points on the evening for Loyola (10-4).
Loyola returns to action on Saturday against the University of New Orleans in The Den. Game time is set for noon. It was previously scheduled for 2 p.m., but was moved due to a conflict with the New Orleans Saints playoff game.
