Loyola women move up in NAIA Top 25 Poll

The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team received 20 votes in the second posting of the NAIA Women’s Division-I Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
Loyola (8-3) doubled their votes from last week’s poll, putting the Maroon and Gold at 29th in the NAIA. The ‘Pack picked up a win on Saturday over city-rival UNO, taking down the Lady Privateers 76-48 at Lakefront Arena. Junior Keiva Council notched her second consecutive 20-point game in the win while junior Amy Sprout had 11 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
Loyola returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. for their final game before the holiday break when they host St. Thomas (Fla.) at The Den. STU (3-2) will be wrapping up a three-game road trip against LU after facing Spring Hill on Dec. 14 and Dillard on Dec. 16.
