Dining services announces canned food drive results

Loyola University New Orleans Dining Services declared Carrollton Residential Hall as the winner of its Helping Hands Across America canned food drive, donating more than 150 cans.
Loyola’s Helping Hands food drive collected a total of 550 cans to be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans. The drive sparked a friendly competition among Loyola’s residential halls. The winning hall, Carrollton Residential Hall, will receive a pizza party for having the most student donations. Students were able to make contributions at dining locations around campus from Nov. 1 through 19.
“Sodexo would like to congratulate everyone for participating in this charitable event,” said Katie Crow, Sodexo/Uptown Campus Dining Communication Specialist.
Helping Hands Across America is a nationwide canned goods drive that pairs schools with local charities in an effort to provide for their community. The food drive is a company-wide initiative sponsored by Sodexo, Loyola’s dining services provider.
