Gina Gill earns SSAC Player of the Week

The Southern States Athletic Conference named Loyola University New Orleans’ Gina Gill Volleyball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Gill averaged nearly five kills a game in Loyola’s six matches, including a 24-kill outing against West Alabama. The junior outside hitter from Baton Rouge served 16 aces for the week, increasing her conference leading total to 58. She also had a great showing on defense, digging out 74 attacks.
Nationally, Gill currently ranks second in kills (380) and in aces for National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division-I. On Loyola’s all-time list, she is sixth in career kills at 1,191 and is only 134 away from third place.
Loyola returns to action this weekend with four matches in the Faulkner Invitational in Montgomery, Ala. The Wolfpack kick off play against Martin Methodist today at 1:30 p.m.
