Loyola brings home cooking to the Orleans Room

Loyola University New Orleans Dining Services opened their cookbook to students’ home recipes through a friendly competition, “Recipes from Home.”

Dining Services has been collecting recipes from Loyola parents across the country hoping to bring some personal favorites to Loyola dining options.

The winning recipe will be featured and publically announced during brunch in the Orleans Dining Room on Sunday, Oct. 3 as part of Loyola’s Family Weekend. The brunch is free for students and their families from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and regular price, $9.50, for everyone after 11:30 a.m.

The already-notified winner received a trip for two to New Orleans as well as a two-night stay in The Hampton Inn on St. Charles during Family Weekend, Oct. 1-3. Family Weekend is a Loyola tradition which reconnects families after the beginning of a new semester and enables parents to experience Loyola through the eyes of their sons and daughters.

All other recipes submitted will be recreated and served in the Orleans Dining Room throughout November.
