Denis Janz tapped for scholar-in-residence program in Jerusalem

October 1, 2010

Denis Janz, Ph.D., Loyola University New Orleans Provost Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies, has been appointed scholar-in-residence by the Tantur Institute for Ecumenical Studies in Jerusalem, Israel. He plans to travel to the institute in the summer of 2011 to study the religious roots of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Situated between Jerusalem and Bethlehem, the Tantur Institute for Ecumenical Studies serves as a welcoming place in the Holy Land for visitors from all over the world, including scholars, teachers, students, and conference attendees, and spiritual sojourners of all Christian faiths.

The institute also offers programs of continuing education and spiritual renewal for clergy, members of religious communities and laity seeking enrichment in the land where Jesus lived and taught.
