Faculty, staff urged to sign up for Emergency Alert System
August 27, 2010
Hurricane season is well underway, and with the start of the new academic year, faculty and staff at Loyola University New Orleans are strongly encouraged to sign up for the university’s Emergency Alert System. This ensures that during a threat to our campus, such as a hurricane evacuation, those registered in the system will receive a text/voicemail alert via their cell phones with instructions from the university.
To sign up to receive emergency notifications, log onto Employee Web Services (EWS) at https://hrews.loyno.edu/ and update your emergency contact information.
You will be asked for your user ID and Loyola password in order to access the emergency contact information form. Those who have already signed up are encouraged to check their current information to ensure it is still correct. Your ID is your employee CWID number, (Campus Wide ID), or your social security number. If you forget your PIN, you can select the “I forgot my PIN” link just under the sign in boxes that will help you retrieve or reset the PIN.
All students are required to provide their cellular numbers for emergencies when they register for classes.
If you have any questions or trouble logging in to the EWS system, please call Donna Rochon with Human Resources at ext. 7272 or email@example.com.
