Wolfpack athletics takes to the airwaves
August 20, 2010
Loyola University New Orleans Wolfpack athletics will be featured this fall in a segment on Fox Sports South in conjunction with their affiliation with the new Southern States Athletic Conference. The SSAC production staff will travel to New Orleans in September to tape a segment on the university and Wolfpack athletics. The program, slated to begin in October on the FSS network, will be broadcast into more than 10.1 million households throughout the country.
“We’ve got a really compelling story to tell and are excited about the opportunity to tell it to a wider and more diverse audience,” said Wolfpack athletic spokesman Brett Simpson. “It will be great for alumni across the Gulf South to turn on the TV and see their school get positive exposure on a big-time network.”
“As the media universe expands, it gives us an opportunity to feature schools that wouldn’t necessarily get a lot of air time,” said SSAC Marketing Assistant Robert Cliatt. “Just because a school isn’t in the Big Ten or SEC, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t a market for the great stories coming out of smaller universities. These stories won’t just involve athletics. We want to know what makes our member universities tick and how the athletic programs fit into that.”
The SSAC program is slated to begin in October and will run through March 2011. Check your local listing for dates and times.
